When new owners acquired the mature suburban shopping district, Upper Darby, PA’s 69th Street, CMC was tapped to reinvigorate the district’s image.  With a strong customer base of city, suburban and culturally mixed shoppers, CMC worked with the new owners, Upper Darby public officials, the local transit authority and shoppers to pinpoint key insights about the shopping district audience demographics.
Based on customer data, CMC choose to update the existing brand identity by tweaking the logo and focusing on strengthening the brand promise via the district’s name.  An update of the logo was crafted by adding youthful color and district’s name was updated to prominently feature the word “Shops”.   Additionally, CMC purposely associated the district’s brand to the nationally known price conscious retailers located in the district by developing a series of on-site customer promotions, ongoing retails promotions and local advertising. CMC concentrated on building awareness and shopper loyalty within a five to ten mile radius of surrounding communities (within a 5 mile radius there are over 285,000 households)

Founded in 1995, Community Marketing Concepts (CMC), a minority and women owned family business is a marketing and communications agency focusing on connecting our clients’ messages to their targeted customers.
